Way to go, WVQHYA!
Great job in Oklahoma!!

Letter to WVQHA,
Our daughter Maryl Lambros and her quarter horse ZL Loosen Cool participated in the 2008 AQHYA World Show in Oklahoma this August. They represented our West Virginia team receiving 12th place finalist in Trail.     This letter is to thank the WVQHA for their continued support of the youth team. Hard work and dedication along with an intense love of these wonderful horses make for some really great kids who can acheive great things. Again, thank you for helping to make this dream come true for our youth members.      We would also like members of WVQHA to know what a terrific job that Miranda McIntosh did as sponsor of the youth team. This was Maryl's fourth year at the world show and we all agree this was our best experience. Miranda's great organizational skill, her compassion and devotion to the sport as well as her youth team members was appreciated and valued. Great Job Miranda!
Sincerely,
Nick and Pippa Lambros

The West Virginia Quarter Horse Association is an AQHA affiliate organization and calls Winfield, WV home. A total of 24 AQHA shows are held annually at the showgrounds plus several contest and pleasure special events between April 26 and September 21. The WV Barrel Futurity is also held at the grounds and offers some of the finest competition in the country. Other features include the Amateur Team Tournament in conjunction with the June 21 show and an All-Novice Show with free clinics by AQHA Professional Horsemen on June 20. This year we're excited to sponsor a 4-day show set to run July 3-6. The West Virginia Breeders Futurity and Mountain State Futuritiy are held in conjunction with the September AQHA show each fall to conclude the season, with this year's futurity on September 19-21.

The showgrounds is located just a few miles off I-64 on Rt 34 just west of Charleston WV. Traveling East or West take the Teays Valley Exit and travel South on Rt 34. The show grounds is on the left just before the intersection of Rts 34 and 35. Two hundred eighteen stalls, one indoor arena and two covered arenas provide a weather proof show environment with ample work areas while the climate-controlled restaurant offers daily specials for all your dining needs. The grounds are set up with full camper hookups with water and power on a gravel parking surface.

If you like to get away after the showing is over or just get away for lunch, the options are limitless with numerous hotels, restaurants, malls, and night life spots which includes the Tri State Greyhound Park just minutes away or enjoy a night out at the ballpark with the WV Power professional baseball team. A variety of water sports and golf are also within short drives of the showgrounds.
